George Braque was a painter and a french sculpture, considered the father of Cubism
In France he continued in the study of decoration for theaters. He even received medal of distinction in 1901. A year after he was accepted to Hombert academy and painted there till 1904. In this period he was reputed as phobist till 1907, when he met Picasso. Then they tried together to flatten the painting, using collages and dissolution it to flat surfaces. That was the birth of Cubism. After his injury in World War 1, he started to move toward the more hermetic and Synthetic cubism.
