FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CALL FOR ARTISTS Sal Marino, Founder of the Funist Art Movement has issued a global invitation to all “Funist” artists seeking promotional exposure for their art. Funism, according to Marino is any and all art that is dedicated to and rooted in absolute fun. Breaking from the bounds of traditional understandings and the confines of over intellectualized art, Funism's sole purpose is to make people giggle, regardless of the artists technical capabilities or professional accomplishments, via the arts message. To qualify, artists should be working in a style, which evokes humor, joviality and jest. Comic personalities welcome. A good sense of humor required. Interested participants should include the following keywords to their search engines and biographies to maximize search results and expand exposure potential: “Funism” , “Funist Art” , “Funist Art Movement”, “Funism founder Sal Marino”. This is an opportunity for artists to secure worldwide recognition via inclusion in the Funist Art Movement. Mr. Marino has embarked on an extensive international publicity campaign, promoting the virtues and gratifications of Funist Art. With a determined resolve, Mr. Marino seeks to establish Funism as a valid art form and secure its place in art history. Mr. Marino can be reached for comment via email: salmarino@salmarinoart.com. This isn't exactly new or novel. Diego Vasquez was doing something very similar in the 60s. See his profile on www.artknows.com. Art has always been fun, it's purely dependent on how the artist approaches it. Anyway, let's have an end to isms and more art. Artnose

Well, I looked at your site, but I don't believe that your observation of the Funism Movement is exactly on target. Yes, there are others who indeed have had fun with art, such as Vasquez [quite frankly, I am flattered to be mentioned in the same sentence as those I admire] but I believe that this (Funism) is a tangent in another direction, seeking to break from traditional and perhaps even untraditional understandings of over intellectualized art. It is merely about fun, nothing more, nothing less. Regards, Sal Marino P.S. At least I'm not in prison!

Hi Sal, Actually Diego Vasquez doesn't exist, as you probably gathered. But I visited your site and i think your pictures are hilarious. Good luck with your Funism movement. Regards Tom Flynn (Artknows Editor)
