Art in Motion V: SYZYGY, the fifth annual international festival of time-based media, will open its exhibition Saturday, March 6, at the Armory Center for the Arts in Pasadena, CA. There will be an opening reception from 7-9 PM followed by an after party at AIM_SPACE. The exhibition will be on display through June 6. This year's exhibition includes work by 19 international artists, including Bruce Yonemoto and Lev Manovich. The festival will showcase video installations, websites, video games, computer applications and photography. AIM: SYZYGY explores the question of the human/machine “remix.” Derived from a Greek root meaning “yoked or paired,” syzygy implies a state of interdependent duality that speaks to the increasingly chimeric relationship between human and machine.
