if art is meant to be a form of communication, then why do the masses not seem to understand it?...
if art is an explay of supreme skill, then why is it, that a chimp could do it?...
if art is about concepts that could change the world, then what's the angel all about?...
is modern art therefore not just a waste of time?...

what's your problem? would you be happier if you sold more work? if you don't like it don't buy it, don't go and see it, don't post discussions on forums about it. What have the masses got to do with it? You are the masses. They won't buy your work, sustain your career. Art has always been for an elite, and continues to be so. If you want to stop wasting your time stop making art and looking at art and complaining about art and help people in the developing world improve their lot. Art will never do that, and has never pretended it will. Baubles and trinkets adorn the walls of the rich, and their minds continue to be improved and become more refined (!). But does that matter? No. Art won't save the world.

I agree with you Pete!!! But some people are newer happy with anything. He sounds like one of them!!!!!!
