I Knew the artist Gregg Griffin. He liked to be called Griff. In early 1990's in New York. He was all over the place at one time he was in 7 or 8 shows big money and fast times but the death of keith haring and Kostib's factory useing the black man style Griffins art style was being used to much. So he went back to Oklahoma city.Griff called it The city like it was the only city in the us. Its there that he gets at the truth changing at a faster rate then the new york art world. Each time he comes out of oklahoma he has a new art style. Good old Griff.

I went to a show at Blah Blah Gallery. It was the best show of 2002 With Devo,Gregg Griffin and Mullins. Must have been 600 people waiting to get in. The show could hold only about 500 people at a time. It was wild all kinds of crazy people and famous pople. Then the cops came and made them shut down the place around midnight. To many people calling them and someone started a fire and people were just takeing the art and runing away with it. While Griffin and Marilyn Manson and his girl friend Dita Von Teese who was going to have a show the next month left with people chaseing after them. I got away with a small Devo painting and a poster with Griffins and Mansons signature on it . I sold this on E-Bay $175.00! and a night to rember.

I went to that same show Looking For Griffin he was in the very back drawing on anything and every thing. He painted on people to. It looked like something bad had happend and you missed it. Like a car werck you just walked up to just seconds after it happend all those people trying to get to him It was maddening. He even painted on paintings in the show his and Devo's and people who bought those paintings were horrified. Griff Didnt care at all I have never seen a person so Free of this World. When we left He got paint on everything he was just covered in paint all night long Lets see the lemo Manson his girl friend Me and all the places we went and nobody said anything to him about it.He painted pictures every where he went sidewalks stop sigens windows Then He was gone leaving a paint trail.

When i read your discutions, I think about Salvadore Dali...when he was alive he sold papers with his signatures for a lot of money!People only had to paint something on it and they could say everywere that they had a real Dali Maybe he will have the same idea

Frank Bowling Juxtapoz Gregg Griffin is capable of achieving a grater range of visual effects with his various methods of applying paint then anyone else of his generation,in this respect he even surpasses many older better known figures such as picasso. If you have any money buy Gregg Griffins Space paintings while you can. 9-29-2003

becauze here in my country, galleries don't give you much money for your pieces also if it is a Van Gogh.Give me the adress from your galery and i'll ask how much they will give for my pieces and then i'll tell you if you were truth . I sold a J.B. Weenix on ebay and it seems to be the better place to sell something now.
