I'm trying to figure out where to sell my art guitars. They are theme guitars that are fully functional, but really intended to be displayed as a home, office, or business accessory. My guitars are usually Hawaiian/surf inspired theme designs.
What stores would best suit sale of my art? And I'm not talking some cheesy hula girl, Hawaiian flower tacky stuff.
I live near Laguna Beach, CA. Since there is so much art culture and business there, I found that most stores are either: 1. tacky, cheap gift shop 2. high end original art painting galleries 3. combination high end original art/statue galleries 4. home furnishing accessories that have a Hawaiian/tropical flare or say high end version of "Pier 1 Imports".
Would it be better to register for an Art Festival to display my art (Laguna Beach has both an annual Sawdust festival or 1st month Art festival), or try going the consignment route with a store? This is my first experience with selling anything regarding art. My previous method was by selling off ebay. But I no longer think my art fits in with the musician customer.

I have quite a bit of hard to catagorize art myself. I have found that a personal website is one of the single best ways to self-promote. Good luck.
