If you are a student there are academic discounts you can get. Do a search for academic discounts + Adobe Photoshop.
Also you can search on e-bay. Take note Adobe Photoshop versions 6 and 7 are very similar to the latest version CS. You can buy an older cheaper version & then upgrade later.
