I have been on two cruises this past year and purchased quite a bit of art from Park West on both.
One of them was a New Year's cruise on Norwegian Dream. I received a tube containing the free bonus prints which I did not have framed, about four weeks ago. Two weeks ago I received one framed print. Last week I received another, and this week I received another. There are two more to go. My experience on the other cruise last summer was similar.
It clearly does take longer than 6-8 weeks to receive anything, but everything does seem to come eventually. And I have to say that the framing has been beautifully done--the framing is a real bargain.
So for those of you who are worried about being scammed...DON'T! As I have said before, you don't really think that the cruise lines would continue to allow Park West to operate on their ships if they were ripping off their mutual customers, do you?
And those of you who do not live in the USA should certainly not expect to receive your art as "quickly" as those who do.

I just got back from a cruise where I purchased two mystery bids and was happy with it. Obviously I haven't received my art yet, and it's too early to tell satisfaction or not. Two things:
One: The art is shipped from Michigan, but the framing facility is in Florida. Therefore, it would seem to me that unframed art would come straight from Michigan, but framed art would be sent to Florida, framed and then sent to the person that ordered it. I can see how that would cause a delay.
Two: One thing I am worried about is the art that I did purchase. I purchased it for my mother-in-law because she would like it, not for any investment purchases. But, when I searched the inet for info on this painting, to have something to show her until it arrived, I was not able to find anything under the title of the painting that I was given "Far Sail". (It's a Lucelle Raad painting on the beach, and many are similar also.)
My parents also bought a painting by Slava Brodinsky; Autumn Fields, which I have been unable to find on Park West or any other website, like the Raad Far Sail piece. Now, I'm wondering if this could be because Park West gets these first, or if there's something more serious going on.

Beware of ParkWest Gallery They are selling Dali artwork from the collection of the Albaretto family which are curretnly under criminal investigation in Germany for fraud and forgery. The Dali foundation in spain is well aware of as is the museum in Tampa Florida.
The albaretto family apparently bought a printing company and reproduced the artwork, falsified contracts and signatures.
The Dali foundation in Spain refuses to authenticate anything from the Albaretto collection.
Parkwest being as large as they are must be informed as well. Shame on them for continuing to sell the work.

I had been buying arts from Parkwest since 1996, i had acquire over 80 of them over the years, Peter Max, Dali, Tarkay, Raad, Picasso and others, I am very pleased with their packing and shipping. only in one of the cruise, the shipping came in later than promised. but they all arrived . ( may be they are selling so much and could not catch up with their orders, they need to improve in this area to satisfy the collectors/ art lovers.) I don't believe that PWG will sell fraud arts work. Since they also sell them on land auction. our gov't would have step in by now, instead of seeing them expanding their auctions to more ships.
as long you are buying something that you like and can appreciate , it will be ok.

I went on a Carnival Cruise that ended on Feb 10th, 2005. I purchased a peanuts piece and three Kinkaid works. I had them all framed. I also received several "free pieces" that supposedly had a $100 value, although I have not checked into that they did arrive early in March 2005. The other pieces have not yet arrived. I was told that it would take 6-8 weeks and at this point it has been 10 weeks. I don't know if I should be concerned or if I am just expecting them to arrive to quickly. I knew little about art, but enjoyed the auction and picked out items I liked, they may not necessarily be worth a fortune but I am sure they are worth what I paid for them, as a framed poster from a local store can cost more then what I paid for some of these pieces. I was just wondering if anyone knows if I should be concerned about the length of time it is taking for these items to arrive.

I think your question has been addressed many times above. I don't know why ParkWest insists on saying that it only takes 6-8 weeks. Maybe without framing that is accurate.
I have purchased many pieces of Park West art on two cruises. The most recent cruise was the Christmas-New Year week. My final piece arrived only last week, 15 weeks after the end of the cruise.
So for everyone with a question about why they haven't received what they purchased: IT MAY TAKE TWICE THE AMOUNT OF TIME STATED BY PARK WEST TO RECEIVE YOUR ART (ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE HAVING IT FRAMED), BUT IT WILL EVENTUALLY ARRIVE--DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT.
Park West could not continue to operate on so many cruise lines if they were scamming their customers. Think about it!
I would encourage you to have your purchases framed by Park West...framing is a bargain, and they do a very good job. You won't be disappointed.
