The Seen Gallery presents:
Tech-know-logic: Three Artists/Three Technologies Opening Saturday, August 1, 7-10 PM
Three artists, Travis Smith, Jonathan Fisher, and Chris May, who use the technology of differing media: traditional painting with non-traditional subjects, print making combined with photographic techniques, and encaustic with photography and painting, create structured imagery reminiscent of todays technological world. The artists, from differing backgrounds, using differing techniques, and approaching their art from different directions have a striking similarity with each other in their imaginative approach to their art. The outcome is a cohesive and thought provoking exhibit which premieres on Saturday, August 1 and runs through Wednesday, September 2, 2009.

I think the most effective way is being in an artistic connection. Unfortunately if you want to be an succesful artist and sell your art you have to meet many people you don't like and you should make a strong network with curators , gallery owners and collectors. Go to their partues as much as you can...
Edoaurd Manet's Lost Painted Study of "La Toilette « Result #4 on Dec 30, 2008, 11:46pm »
A Fascinating discovery has been made. While investigating an unknown painting signed Manet, researchers at the Laure & Lee Art Association discovered the presence of a long lost painting of Edouard Manet titled "La Toilette". Scholars of Manet like Juliet Wilson Bareau and others have said that La Toilette has been over painted or destroyed and that only x-ray of Manet's canvases would reveal it location. Here is a link of the YouTube HD video which shows the etching superimposed on top of the x-ray. To view the video in HD simply click on the HD link at the bottom right side of the video.

Funism is a serious art movement founded in 1991 by Norm Magnusson in New York City. Its basic tenets have remained the same: 1) Art should be intellectually engaging without being intellectually elitist, and 2) Art should be as much fun to look at as it is to think about.
Unlike so many other art movements, this one is philosophically focussed rather than aesthetically, or design focussed.
